The Woman in the Window (AJ Finn, 2018)

How I stumbled upon it: Hot lists for summer, Book of the Month, Hudson News - it’s everywhere!

What it's about: Anna Fox is suffering from PTSD and is confined to her apartment. From her window, she watches the family across the street - and witnesses a terrible event occur. But, given that she’s been self-medicating with drugs + alcohol, is she even sure of what she saw? Full of twists and turns, this is definitely a thriller for summer.

What I thought: I had a slow start with the first 100 pages, and I felt like the ending was rushed, but the 300 pages in between were blissful! I was on the edge of my seat, so much so that I had to stay up until 2AM to see what became of Anna and her neighbors. The drunk woman who witnesses a crime is a bit played out these days in popular fiction, but I still really enjoyed this one.

You can get it here OR you can sign up for Book of the Month here.
