We Are Never Meeting in Real Life
We Are Never Meeting in Real Life (Samantha Irby, 2017)
How I stumbled upon it: Recommended by a friend!
What it's about: A collection of short stories and blog entries from the author’s life.
What I thought: Y’all. I have a pretty low bar for humor (I think everything is funny), but I just couldn’t get into this one. She’s so self-deprecating, but not in a way that I found endearing or interesting. That being said, there were a couple funny essays, but not enough to recommend buying it (I struggled even writing what it was about). She’s not even nice to her rescue cat! Save this one for a library rental. However, you may disagree! If so, you can get it here.
