The Perfect Mother (Aimee Molloy, 2018)

How I stumbled upon it: Book of the Month put it on my radar, but my team read it for book club at work!

What it's about: Nell, Francie, Colette and Winnie are four of the “May Mothers” group that meets in Brooklyn every week with their newborns. That is...until Winnie’s baby, Midas, goes missing when the women are out for a night on the town. What happened to Baby Midas? And why is Winnie not the woman they all thought they knew?

What I thought: I’ve read a lot of thrillers in the past few years, so I can’t say I was quite as surprised by the twist as some of my friends. That being said, I loved how the book was set in a time span of less than two weeks, the characters all have secrets and rich backstories, and the narrator is constantly changing per chapter, so it helped the plot move along quite quickly.  It’s a great beach read and I would definitely recommend!
