How I stumbled upon it: My friend Kara and I are trying to read through the works of Joan Didion this year so we started with this one!

What it's about: It’s a collection of essays from Didion’s time in California in the 1960s.

What I thought: As with all collections of essays, there were some I loved and some I thought should have been cut from the final edit. However, I really enjoyed this! It’s funny to read something that was published 50 years ago and realize how many feelings + experiences can still be so relatable. If you are looking to start reading Joan Didion’s work, this is a great place to start.
