The Sun is Also a Star (Nicola Yoon, 2016)

How I stumbled upon it: While looking for a good beach read last summer, I found it next to Nicola Yoon’s “Everything, Everything.”

What it's about: Natasha + Daniel are both teens living in NYC. Natasha is about to be deported, and Daniel is desperately trying to live up to his parent’s expectations. It’s the worst timing imaginable, but love doesn’t stop for anyone.

What I thought: When my boyfriend came into the room and found me straight up uncontrollably sobbing, he thought someone had died. How could I explain to him that when you finish a book it’s a tragic ending for your story with those characters? This was my venture into the land of YA last summer and I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
